Door Gym Fitness for all Ages! #GetMoving2013

door gymI don't know about your family, but come winter, we don't get outside as often as I'd like.  Because of more time indoors, we are simply not as active during winter as we are in the warmer months. As a youth fitness instructor and mother I know how important it is for everyone in our family to be active all year round.  The CDC  states on their website, "Regular physical activity is one of the most important things you can do for your health. It can help:

Sometimes regular physical activity in the winter months takes a bit of creativity.   Our house is relatively small.  There's not a lot of vacant floor space.  So this year, I stated thinking vertically!  How could I utilize the space above ground to help my family Get Moving all year round?  I've come up with a few ideas & found a company called Dream Gym to help me put some of those ideas into action.

Check out some of our families ways for staying active indoor, in a small space. Then enter to win a Dream Gym Jan. 17- 31st 2013.

Staying Active Indoors using Doorway Gyms:

A Doorway Gym comes in many different forms. But essentially it is a bar with padded grips, adjusts to fit most standard width door frames that can be used by adults & children for year round exercise and fun.

We use our Dream Gym, doorway gym on it's high setting for:

  • *Hanging leg raises
  • *Chin ups
  • *Parallel grip pullups
  • *Stretching
  • *TRX inspired activities

We use our Dream Gym, doorway gym on it's low setting for:

  • *Sit-Ups
  • *Push -Ups
  • *Balanced Squats
  • *And other creative strengthening exercises that also utilize balance balls, longboards or resistance bands.

My children & their friends use the Dream Gym with the accompanying Trapeze bar and Rings to practice their gymnastics skills & for hours of indoor active play!

Dream Gym is offering a their Doorway  Gym with accompanying Trapeze bar & Rings to one of our readers! $100 value!

About the Giveaway Prize:

Doorway swing (or doorway gym) is a great solution for a place with not enough space for a full jungle gym.  Chrome plated bar with padded grips, adjusts to fit most standard width door frames from 28″ to 36″ wide. The weight capacity for the bar alone is 210 Lbs therefore teenagers and adults can do chin-ups too, the weight capacity for a trapeze bar and gym rings combo is 150 Lbs.

This kit includes : mounting hardware, two hanging straps, two spring clips and trapeze bar with rings which will delight any child. You can hang many other accessories, such as: hammock swing, rope ladder, gym rings, cuddle swing, platform swing, etc.

We have included trapeze bar with rings combo that we entertain any child for hours. Children can somersault, swing, twist. The combo offers all the benefits that rings and trapeze bar provide alone. The rings do not move freely during exercises, making it easier to turn a somersault. The combo encourages children to practice and develop their gymnastic abilities.
